Brief description
The Biosistema technological competence centre undertakes High-Tech Biology research, i.e. in the field of Bioinformatics and red, white and green biotechnology.
Biosistema CCT bundles scientific and relational capital of the regions of Southern Italy, in order to be able to provide a broad offer spectrum of services for the promotion of innovative production systems. In summary, such services consist of: Scientific, technological, logistic, juristic and financial information, Technology transfer, Highly qualified training and Scientific research.

The centre recently concluded (30.06.2009) the foundation and start phases and can thus realise the project selected by the Ministry for Universities and Research. It will commence work immediately.

Description
Genotype determination of agricultural, location-typical products of Southern Italy with a high sales potential by means of DNA-technologies (gene amplification, sequencing, gene expression).
Aim
Application of high-tech breeding technologies for the optimisation of the diversity of species of breeds of animals with a high commercial value and for the protection of national or of species threatened with extinction.
