Main points

For CITT, the networking is of great significance. Hence in the first year, a great deal of time was invested in the search for suitable partnerships and projects at regional level. Many of these contacts could be made more concrete and flowed into real partnerships. Others again are still in the definition and build up phases.
CITT undertook the necessary steps to have the centre recognised as an official training centre of the Tuscany Region. Currently the preparation of an event and seminar cycle is the focus of attention, to which numerous persons active in the energy sector have been invited. The aim thereby is the content exchange between companies, public administration, experts and researchers on the propagation and use of EE in our economic system.
CITT has in addition applied to become the Web Access Learning Point of the Province of Grosseto. With this additional feature CITT belongs to the group of facilities which offer ESF-funded further training courses. Moreover, CITT has founded a documentation centre for EE, which fulfils the function of a databank for innovative technologies. The aim hereby is the propagation of best practices and future technologies for technology transfer and the operative application of EE.
CITT has created two types of databank:
1. One databank of research centres, which deals with technology transfer
2. One databank for users, which contains a list of all companies, which are dealing with renewable energies at national level and energy savings; particularly in the fields of: Wind energy, Photovoltaic and Biomass.

Brief description

Co.Svi.G. – Consortium for the development of geothermic zones – is a cooperative company with limited liability (SCRL), consisting of regional public facilities, who are the shareholders in the consortium. Co.Svi.G. is situated in a traditional geothermic area and was founded in 1988 on the initiative of the local communities. The aim of this being founded was, on the one hand, the promotion of socio-economic initiatives in the region; on the other hand, the facilitation of all technical and financial regulations, which must be complied with when using geothermic resources. Co.Svi.G today plays a pioneering role as a so-called executive arm for sustained development in the Tuscany Region, by championing the up-grading of production, the use of renewable energies and for the promotion of environmentally compatible technologies.
CITT (international centre for the transfer of technological innovation for renewable energy sources) is an answer to the need for the propagation and transfer of innovative technological competences and methodologies to facilitate the growth of renewable energies.
CITT has set itself the target of promoting the development and spread of innovation, in order to have these develop into general practice; this happens by means of the transfer of new methods to participants, who take up different roles in the production chain.
CITT has in its first business year of its activities conducted several consulting and feasibility studies, in particular:
1. Support of a private person with the building of a photovoltaic unit of about 1 MWp on the site of the former waste site of Burlino in Larderello
2. Support of the community Gaiole in Chianti with the public authorities and in the approval procedure for the invitation to tender of a privately operated district heating facility. The activities of CITT comprised in particular the following activities: preparation of the invitation to tender documents, localisation of the suppliers for biomass, individualisation of the companies interested in an investment in the project and participation of interested energy suppliers.
3. Support of the community Montana Alta Val di Cecina with the temporary study on the performability of a unit for parallel energy generation of electrical power for the firm of Altari Chimica Spa as heat supplier to the firm for its own consumption and possibly for a district heating facility in the residential area of Saline.
