Research and Development
Project 1: Monitoring urban areas
Description
Planning, production and application of sensors, which determine the proportion of fine dust particles, in particular, the 'black encrustation' on memorials.
Aim
Currently the Environmental Protection Law contains only quantitative limit values with regard to the permitted proportion of fine dust particles, without giving exact specification on the qualitative nature of the fine dust. The latter would enable a differentiation of various macroscopic load levels (Sahara dust, industry dust) to be made.
Project 2: Application of the chemical innovation with REACH
Aim
The European REACH project serves the European reglementation of the use and the differentiation of products and compound materials. This application demands a considerable financial commitment of the producers and entrepreneurs. The traditional methods are generally cost-intensive and slow and serve with REACH chemical, physical and toxicological analyses. Here research uses innovative methods and is partially also unrestrictedly active.
