Main points

D.A.Re. was recognised as a technology district as part of the agreement protocol of the Apulia Region dated May 2008. The district serves as the interface for technology transfer between the research sector and agricultural/food sector of Apulia and is intended to support innovation and competitiveness. By carrying out this function, the competence of the members (public and private universities and research centres) is strengthened, which have experience and the suitable structures for the coverage of the innovation needs in the R&D segment. The district regulates on the one hand the presentation and administration of the projects, on the other hand, the audits in Apulian agricultural/food companies. The aim is hereby the assessment of possibilities, which are present for the realisation of innovative products/processes and/or services. In addition, the district offers the following services:
Technological consulting, build-up of partnerships and the agreements for the support of the companies facilities involved resulting from them (research and industry).
As a technology district, D.A.Re. contributes to the spontaneous and/or formalised dissemination of scientific and technological spill-over, which serves both as the basis for further entrepreneurial “science-based” initiatives and also for the support of cross-fertilisation.
