Main points

Habitech, TrentinoTechnology District for Energy and the Environment, was founded in cooperation with the universities, research laboratories and private companies and local authorities. The aim is the realisation of production chains specialising in the following sectors: Sustained construction, energy production from renewable energies and environmental technologies for the regional administration. 150 private entrepreneurs belong to Habitech representing over 300 companies and more than 8 000 employees.
In the sustained construction segment, Habitech is a founder member of the Green Building Council Italia, an association without profit-making intentions, which is currently restructuring the national building industry standards by means of the introduction of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The US American criteria for sustained construction are the basis for this, which are applied in over 60 countries. The GBC Italia has the task of drafting the criteria for the LEED Italia system and must thereby take the climatic, construction and legal special conditions in Italy into consideration. The first LEED Italia version is envisaged for this year. Until now 50 LEED projects were registered for certification, which were proposed by Italian companies and facilities. The district has already offered the organisers and companies the first support services for the LEED certification.
A further aim of the district is the promotion of the use of renewable sources of energy, above all, the generation of energy from renewable sources and sustained mobility. In the field of sustained mobility, the work of the team is sub-divided into three spheres: production of hydrogen, biogas and the Oil Free Zone® project.
In addition, the development of environmental technologies is also a priority in the district strategic plan. Included here, above all, are the monitoring of water resources and was disposal management including timber waste.

A project which defined the energy as the motor of local development.
  • Motus. MOTUS (MObility and Tourism in Urban Scenarios) is a project of the Industria 2015. The aim is the creation of a platform for information services for the support of eco- mobility.
