The POINT Institute in DALMINE was founded in 1996 as an innovation hub by Servitec, a technology pool for furthering regional development. A local establishment does not only have the advantage of working together with various partners and interested supporting organisations on projects but also in addition access to other science and technology parks is gained and also to important Italian and foreign universities, renowned research centres and important public establishments.

- Technological consulting: Technological voucher for nanotechnological surface treatments of diverse kinds for finished products (materials: metal, plastic, wood, textiles, rubber, etc.); consulting for technological developments (products and processes); Information on industrial property, financing capital for research and technological innovations, product and process certification. Exploitation of the work waste (coupled products: rubber, buttons, w3ood and stone)
- Energy: electric power savings during the production with compressed air. Electrical power savings in milking parlours and in milk preparation milk sheds, energy savings in the processing of plastics (pressings), technical-economic optimisations of demineralisation facilities for industrial wastewater (Italian Trade, Industry, Crafts and Agrar Chamber of Bergamo); technical-economic feasibility studies for cogeneration facilities in the industrial segment and also for photovoltaic units, technical-economic feasibility study of facilities which are supplied by biogas, which is produced by anaerobic digestion
