Friuli Innovazione Centro di ricerca e di trasferimento tecnologico

We look after talents, so that from ideas come projects and from research products. Every day we respond to needs and ideas and attempt to realise projects as concretely and efficiently as possible and, simultaneously to promote the dialogue between research and industry.

Research and Development

ICT and High-Tech: from the current technologies to the future

The project is financed by Regional Law 26/2005, Art. 21, and is currently in its second project year. The focus of attention is both applied and industrial research and also technology transfer. The aim is the acquisition of new knowledge in very promising ICT sectors, such as computer simulation.

Aim

The first part of the project deals with research into virtual simulation programs for vehicles in motion. The development of particularly innovative technologies formed thereby the centre of attention. The R&D activities aimed at integrating knowledge for more precise and more reliable software applications for vehicle simulations, as the vehicle tests on the road are increasingly replaced by simulation. The second part concentrated on the transfer of knowledge and developed technologies and serves as the basis for a possible foundation of a regional excellence centre for digital processing and testing technologies.

Description and elimination of contaminants, risk analysis for woodworking processes

Project is organized within the framework agreement between the Region and the Council of Ministers and financed by CIPE (interministerial committee for economic programming)

Aim

The aim of the initiative is the development of projects in applied/strategic research with medium and long-term impacts in the wood sector. Above all, environmental and safety topics are dealt with, which are included among the critical elements in the development of wood processing. The project comprises five topics:

  • Study of the dynamics and dispersion of wood particles and fibres
  • Development of filter material for the removal of formaldehyde in the exhaust air at low temperatures caused by the processing procedures for wood
  • Foundation of a laboratory for fire and risk research in the wood and furniture segment
  • Description of the chemical-physical composition of wood varnishes and their composition with the VOC emissions and the product quality
  • Epidemiological control of the employees in the wood and furniture industry
